WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random extra substat is also added to each upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item however, they are always cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Cases gg are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will show the item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Upgraders for items can be found in many places, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Crests
Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific level upgrades for items. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment of a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. For instance, it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
